So here it is! Who is this mysterious woman gracing the cover of Fang Part 2? Maybe the beter question is what is she?
The second part of Fangs is here. New characters, the return of some old favourites. Corruptions, vampings, mind control and possession, it's all here! This is a shorter chapter as it came to a natural point (I guess you'd call it a cliffhanger). It will be pretty obvious from the conclusion that part two is not the final part. Who knows how many part this thing will have. I'll keep writing as long as I'm still enjoying it and there is a story to tell, although I may take a note from Shinra's book and work on some side projects too. Nothing to the scale of this but maybe some 10-20 page short stories. I already have a few DC superheroes modelled who are begging for a story so that might come too.
Anyway enough rambling. Here's the comic!

This was pretty good, interested to see where things go from here. I think having shorter chapters or quick short stories would be great so there are not huge gaps between stuff. As great as Shinra is he can go 9 months to a year between stuff.

I love this chapter but I'm also damned frustrated. I wanted to see the Doctor turn badly....and yes I was so bummed when Kit finds out she is immune. The writing was so good that I felt her frustration as well. Hopefully there is a "cure". The art and story are great. I really appreciate you doing this.

DeleteI kinda like having the doctor pop in and out of the story completely unaware of what's going on but I'd be surprised if she saw out the series uncorrupted.

ReplyDeleteMost of all, I'm very impressed with your writing skill to flesh out your characters. Just about everyone who actually matters in your comic has logical and believable thought processes. Instead of being mere one-dimensional typical comic book characters that only need to fulfill their roles as fetish material targets, they all appear natural enough to make me care about what they're going through. (With the possible exception of Electra who is a little too convenient as a natural ultimate evil character.) Melinda is a very well-developed main character and especially Kit is interesting and unique with her double role of being humanity's hope and wanting to become evil while being unable to do so.
In addition to this, the events in your story mostly have a logical flow to them as well. We see many different women get into trouble (exactly what we secretly want to happen to them, given that this is a vampire/mc fetish story), but it never feels forced. They get into trouble because evil outsmarts them or takes them by complete surprise, and (mostly) not because of their own naive stupidity. They all have reason to act and think like they do, and it primarily surprises me (in a good way) how many of the lesser important characters also get this treatment. Really good writing!
I don't care about the many negative reactions you have gotten for both chapters about there not being enough hetero sex or even any sex. As far as I can tell, this is a vampire-fetish story with erotic elements; why should this be porn or become porn? An artistic choice is not the same as a mistake.
So I hope you keep playing to your own strength, and not feel that you need to shift your direction just because (too) many posts say you should.
Yet another element that I like is that this story hasn't been fully written in advance (that is true, correct?) You let the story progress and evolve on its own, making the next chapter based on the current chapters. So it's unlike Shinra does it and completely the same as we from G9MPcomics do it: a haphazard way of working with many risks of derailing, plot paradoxes, or loose ends, but it gives you the opportunity to use fresh ideas without needing to reconstruct earlier written parts.
In the graphics department, I would have liked to see you add some photoshop effects every now and then. Some motion lines, some impact effects, some glowing effects... All those small details that can put some extra life into the pictures. Just like I wrote on e-hentai for the first chapter, some pictures are a bit lacking without these effects like 068 top, 087 bottom right, or both on 101. The pics are also grainier than they need to be because the original size of the pictures is so big and they're already pretty unfocused in that original size. I think that's a shame because the pics are rather pretty otherwise.
Anyway, enough from me. I enjoyed this chapter as much as the first, and I'm particularly looking forward to more great ideas and skilled writing!
Btw, a question about the first chapter: even in the revised version pages 108 and 109 still have Electra calling Silver "Katie". Is that a leftover mistake or does Silver just happen to also be called Katie? It kinda bugs me each time I see it. ;)
Amazing feedback! Thanks for taking the time. You're right that I'm kind of making it up as I go along. I have some plans for the overall arc but nothing is completely storyboarded.

I really need to work on my non-existant photoshop skills and get the movement stuff sorted. IRay apparently has the feature built in but it's not been implemented in Daz3D yet so photoshop is the only way.
Thanks cantraps for your awesome work bringing the next chapter of fangs, its an interesting story and the art is okay, a little grainy for my taste but it did the job. I am proud you were able to do this amount of work with your own life in the way. I cant wait to see what is next from you. Is there going to be a Fangs PT. 3 or are you going to get started on something new?
